The day I discovered highlighter products was a very good day for me. Not only do I get to look glittery on an everyday basis, it’s genuinely a fun makeup product to use. It doesn’t feel like a necessity to wear so it makes applying makeup a little less of a chore in the morning.
I am probably one of the last bloggers to purchase this palette but I still wanted to write about it in case you haven’t tried it yet. It’s quite a popular one and the day I found it in stock at my local Superdrug was a great day.
The packaging of the Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette is beautiful and it’s great quality for a high street product. It’s the perfect size to hold in one hand with a compact mirror inside. It is reflective gold and looks so luxurious. It is definitely the palette that all bloggers dream of.
There are four shades in the Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette; Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Subsolar and Equinox. Hemisphere and Equinox are definitely my favourites and they are the baked highlighter powders in the palette.
I apply the highlighter using a Real Techniques Contour Brush and lightly brush it onto the highest points of my face. When wearing this highlighter I am always confident that it’ll last the whole day and it’s one less thing to be worrying about.
Ecliptic, the shade in the top left of the palette, is a luscious cream highlighter. I usually stay well away from cream products because I find them difficult to blend. However, I have used it a few times and it has worked pretty well.
Equinox and Hemisphere are my favourite shades. Hemisphere is a purple highlighter, and while this does sound a little intimidating and unwearable, it is actually really easy to incorporate into my every day makeup routine.
The same applies with the Equinox shade, it’s a beautiful copper highlighter and I wear it daily. It gives my face that ‘finished’ look and I feel like I can face the world when I’m wearing it.
I would definitely give this palette a nine out of ten. The colours are beautiful and it’s the perfect size to throw into your handbag.
Let me know if you have any other highlighter palette recommendations in the comments, I would love to try some more!
