*I am awaiting an email from Collection regarding their animal testing policy. I will update this post when I find out more*
I have recently been trying out a new foundation from Collection cosmetics, the Illuminating Touch Foundation. Before I went away to Prague, (I will write about it eventually, I promise!) I was in dire need of a new foundation. My trusty NYX Stay Matte but Not Flat was coming to an end, and while I lusting after the Too Faced Born This Way foundation, I opted for a much cheaper alternative.
Superdrug had their three for two offer on at the time, and while most beauty bloggers would go for it and buy just about everything, I got the travel bits and pieces I needed, as well as the Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation. I have always loved their Lasting Perfection Concealer, so surely the foundation must be okay too, right?
This foundation comes in six shades; Porcelain (1), Ivory (2), Cool Beige (3), Warm Beige (4), Honey (5) and finally, Golden (6). I can definitely tell that they have tried to cater to every skin tone, but of course, six shades isn’t enough. I’m quite pale, so usually I always opt for the lightest shade of foundation. Unfortunately, I think Porcelain is a tiny bit too dark for my skin but with a brightening concealer, it isn’t too noticable.
The packaging of the Collection Illuminating Touch Founation is a lot more luxurious than what you would expect for a drugstore foundation. It’s in a glass, 30ml bottle which is more than enough product to take me through for a few months. The bottle also comes with a pump making it so easy to use; I don’t wear makeup every day so having one I can quickly apply is essential.
For a £5.99 foundation, the Collection Illuminating Touch foundation provides lasting coverage for most of the day. I would say the coverage is medium but definitely buildable. I use a primer all over my face first, and apply the foundation using a damp Real Techniques sponge. Although for all day long coverage, I would definitely recommend something a little more high-end. On the other hand, for university and work though, I think it does the job fine!
The Illuminating Touch Foundation doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry after wearing it. It has a light feel and it gives my skin a lovely glow, too.
UPDATE: You can purchase the Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation here for £3.99!
