If you are a regular reader, you will already know that I have switched out all of my beauty and skincare products for ones that are cruelty-free. Thanks to The Bloggers Hangout, I recieved the Akar Skin Sample Kit* to review from Akar Skin. I have really enjoyed trying a range of products.
Akar Skin products are made up of 100% natural ingredients which is so reassuring and lovely to hear when researching a new brand.
Akar Skin Sample Kit
The Akar Skin Sample Kit is made up of six products in a cute little bag. There are two lip butters, a balance toning mist, two face oils and an eye serum. These are a lovely size for short travel trips and perfect for trying products before you buy the full sized versions.
The first lip butter I have been testing from the Akar Skin Sample Kit is their Mini Care Lip Butter. The consistency of this lip butter is lovely and thick so I wouldn’t recommend wearing it to go out in because it feels pretty heavy on the lips. It immediately feels incredibly moisturising though. After wearing it over night, in the morning my lips were super soft!
I then tried the Ruby Tint Lip Butter. I wore this to the East Midlands Blogger Meet Up last week (read my post about it here) and the colour is so lovely. This definitely isn’t a product if you want long lasting colour. I popped this on a few times throughout the day and it kept my lips moisturised and gave them a hint of colour.
I’ve never tried a face oil before, so I was interested and intrigued to try The Desert Rescue Face Oil and the Neat Remedy Face Oil.
I tried the Desert Rescue oil in a morning when my skin was feeling a lot drier than usual and by the end of the day it was back to its usual self. I used my fingers to apply it on all of the dry areas of my face before doing any other part of my skincare routine. It is high in antioxidants and vitamins which is definitely what you want to be putting on your skin.
The Neat Remedy Facial Oil is again quite a moisturising oil. It’s aimed at combination, oily and sensitive skin, so it isn’t perfect for me at the moment so I’m waiting to try it when my skin is quite oily. I’ll keep you posted!
Lush Balance Toning Mist
I’m quite new to toning mists, I recently featured one in my July Favourites, so I was excited to try this. This sample is a 5ml sample which is more than the others in the Akar Skin Sample Kit. This is a lovely refreshing mist which I’m carrying around in my bag until it runs out! It is a great one for no-makeup days and travelling.
Nutrient Boost Eye Serum
I was so excited to try this. This serum claims to reduce puffiness, dryness, dark circles and wrinkles! I definitely hoped that it reduced my puffiness and dark circles because I always struggle to cover them up – It worked! I applied this under my eyes while I was doing some blog admin in the morning, and when it came to going out my puffiness had gone and my dark circles were less visible. Fab!
